R12 Rex Scrub and iglidur PRT slewing ring bearing from igus® - The unbeatable combination for cleaning on a large scale

Maximum efficiency and smooth movement for demanding cleaning tasks

The R12 Rex Scrub from Lionsbot International Pte Ltd is the answer to cleaning on a large scale. With two highly efficient 16-inch brushes, it sets new standards in its class. With a scrubbing force of 80kg, the surface is effectively cleaned, maximising cleaning speed and effectiveness. It achieves perfect results in just one process step and can be used for up to 10 hours.

The silicon carbide coated cylindrical brushes are extremely durable and ensure effective cleaning without interruption. With a cleaning width of 127cm and a 9.5 litre dirt collector, it offers impressive performance and comfort.

The device can be used in various large areas, e.g. shopping malls, factories, parking garages and many more.

Profile

  • What was needed: A slewing ring bearing that allows rotation through 360°.
  • Requirements: Robustness, resistance, freedom from lubrication and cost efficiency are the main requirements for the bearing.
  • Industry: Cleaning and robotics

Problem

There was a key challenge to overcome during the development of the R12 Rex Scrub: the balance between performance and efficiency. The biggest problem was to create a cleaning machine that achieved high cleaning performance on large surfaces and was energy efficient.

Another major problem was making the device maintenance-free while ensuring high durability and robustness.

For this purpose, a slewing ring bearing was sought that was lubrication-free, clean and had long-lasting specifications.

Solution

The solution was to equip the R12 Rex Scrub with igus® PRT slewing ring bearings to solve the problem of minimising friction and long-lasting bearing support. The igus® slewing ring bearings offer smooth movement without lubricants and are characterised by their robustness and resistance to external influences such as water and dirt. They also have high resilience and shock resistance, which is ideal for use in demanding cleaning environments.

The PRT slewing ring bearings also enable reliable and precise rotary movement of the cleaning device, even for large and heavy cleaning tasks. Using these bearings ensures a long robot service life without the need for regular maintenance or lubricants. This reduces operating costs and increases the efficiency of the cleaning process.
