Test reports of the bus cables

Discover all our test reports on the durability tests for our bus cables here.

Bus cable CFBUS.PUR.049

Test number:5064
Bend radius:75mm (factor 10.3 x d)
Service life:17 million strokes
In this test, the life expectancy of the CFBUS.PUR.049 in an e-chain with a 75mm radius was to be analysed.

In this test, the bus cable CFBUS.PUR.049 was tested for its service life. We completed the test after 14 months and 17,495,094 double strokes. At the end of the test, the cable was in perfect condition, which is essential for an application on a control panel.

Using the CFBUS.PUR in practice

A machine's display is the control centre where every machine tool function is adjusted and checked. To allow rapid data transmission in real time, these control units often have Ethernet cables. For large systems in particular, it has proven effective to make this control unit moveable, even linearly moveable. A reliable cable is now required to properly map the recurring movement.

Bus cable CFBUS.052

Test number:5006a
Cable typeEthernet cable
Bend radius:100mm (factor 9.8 x d)
Service life:41 million strokes
In this test, the life expectancy of the CFBUS.052 in an e-chain with a 100mm radius was to be analysed.

The cable's service life was tested in our test laboratory. The cable was assembled in an energy chain with a radius of 100mm and a strain relief on both ends of the e-chain. Continuous movement simulated the stress in the machine, thus permitting an accurate evaluation under real-world conditions.

Use of the CFBUS in practice

The aim of the test was to determine the service life of the chainflex bus cable in a radius of 100mm with a travel of up to seven metres. This Ethernet cable is required to ensure reliable data transmission over the longest possible service life despite constant movement.
The demand for quality in combination with a small bend radius is particularly prevalent in industrial machines and applications that have to process a large amount of data. In addition, small installation spaces are often a major challenge for the durability of the cables.

Bus cable CFBUS.LB.049

Test number:5108
Bend radius:55mm (factor 6.6 x d)
Service life:more than 24 million strokes
In this test, the life expectancy of the CFBUS.LB.049 in an e-chain with a 55mm radius was to be analysed.

The test showed that the expected service life of the CFBUS.LB.049 bus cable is more than 24 million strokes, which means that we can reliably achieve a long service life even with small radii.

Use of the CFBUS.LB in practice

The bus cable shown is often used in applications where fast handling is required. Short cycle times and handling system flexibility are very important here. This means maximum stress for the cables. The food industry is an example. Fast handling robots must combine maximum precision, shortest cycle times and light weight.

Bus cable CFROBOT8.045

Test number:3486
Cable typeTorsion cable, Ethernet cable
Test parameter+/- 180°/m
Service life:22 million cycles
In this test, the torsion resistance of the CFROBOT8.045 in a triflex R was to be analysed.

With a test result of over 22 million cycles, it was confirmed that the cable fulfils the requirements of the automotive industry.

Using the CFROBOT8 in practice

The CFROBOT8.045 cable is frequently used in automobile production in such applications as mobile measuring units that are assembled on the robot's sixth axis. The robot moves to inspection points and carries out analyses to ensure production quality. In the process, the cables that transport the sensitive Ethernet signal are twisted a great deal. For such tasks, the robot must be 100% reliable.

CFROBOT8.PLUS.045 bus cable

Test number:4888
Cable typeTwistable cable
Test parameter+/- 360°/m
Service life:15 million strokes
This test assessed the expected service life of the CFROBOT8.PLUS bus cable with a torsion of +/- 360°/m in a triflex R.The test has shown that the expected service life of the CFROBOT8.PLUS.045 can withstand 15 million cycles and can therefore reliably transmit data even with precise, multi-dimensional movements.

Using the CFROBOT8.PLUS in practice

Camera-based robot applications are often used in industry for such purposes as recognizing barcodes or performing quality assurance. But this application is also used for a television studio. Here, it is particularly important that an extremely reliable power and data supply takes place and that very demanding movements can be carried out.
