Transform Your Equipment with xiros® Radial Deep Groove Ball Bearings – Excellence in Motion!

deep groove ball bearings | xiros
Xiros deep groove ball bearings are single-row ball bearings made from plastic, falling under the rolling bearing category. These bearings are primarily designed to handle radial loads, especially at high speeds, and can occasionally manage minor axial forces due to the rolling elements near the bearing’s running grooves. Compliant with DIN 625 standards, xiros bearings are maintenance-free and zero-lubrication. The bearing cage can also be customized for different environmental conditions. To enhance versatility, these bearings are equipped with balls made from stainless steel, glass, polymer, or ceramic.

The radial deep groove ball bearing design

Structure of deep groove ball bearing

The outer and inner races:

The suitability of a plastic ball bearing based on DIN 625 is decisively determined by the materials of the two races. These are made from tribopolymers to maximise service life and minimise coefficient of friction. There are diverse materials to choose from. They allow different values of application temperature, media resistance and price.

Cages:

The material of the bearing cage must also match the application. These materials are also very different in terms of chemical resistance and temperature. Within the xiros bearing product range, the cages are already perfectly matched to the materials of the inner and outer races.

Balls:

The ball materials differ most significantly. In addition to stainless steel, glassplastics and ceramics are also used. This produces a large difference in mass, which in turn affects quiet operation, weight and media resistance. Stainless-steel balls are cost-effective and resistant to chemicals but are also the heaviest type. Glass balls should be selected when metal-free material is important. They are also very resistant to chemicals and have a moderate weight. Polymer balls have decisive advantages in terms of weight and quiet running behaviour. Depending on the plastic, polymer balls also have excellent chemical resistance.
